The Agnes was developed by Korean dermatologist, Dr. Gun Young Ahn. Agnes uses the stable and effective technology of radiofrequency to specifically target a variety of tissue types and depths. The needle depths have been precisely designed to target specific structures. The needles have an insulated coating which protects surrounding structures in the skin as well as the epidermis. A scientifically researched and designed micro-insulated needle is inserted into the fat pad and the RF energy is delivered to permanently reduce the fat. The minimally invasive treatment only requires local anesthesia.
Which conditions can be treated?
Agnes RF offers beneficial treatments by using a tissue specific needle to treat fat under the chin, eyes, jowls, and along the jawline. Not only does it remove the fat, but it also tightens the skin.
How are treatments done?
Agnes RF procedures depend on targeted tissue. Many treatments can be performed with numbing cream before the procedure. The treatment is relatively painless. In the case of eye bag treatments and deeper treatments, local anesthetic injections may be used in addition to the numbing cream.
The location specific needle(s) is inserted into the fat pad or wrinkle and the Agnes triggers a number of pulses.
Recovery time post RF treatment of deep lines and eye bags
For deep lines and eye bags the downtime is between 3-7 days with possible swelling and redness followed by another week of less severe redness. The redness and swelling may be concealed with foundation on day 4. Sometimes with heavy treatments, numbness and hypersensitivity may be experienced for up to 4 weeks.
After care for deep lines and eye bags
Immediately after the procedure for eye bags and deep wrinkles, the surface of the skin will be pink and sensitive for 3-10 days depending on the depth. Some bruising may occur. Ice may be applied every half hour to reduce discomfort and minimize swelling.
How Long Does It Take for Results to Show?
For deep wrinkles and eye bags, about 1-2 weeks after you have mostly recovered, the area may look “worse” than it did before the procedure, which is normal. Most of the benefit appears over the coming months as new collagen is deposited under the skin and the skin begins to remodel its structure. For the treatment of eye bags, it will take 2-6 months for the fat cells to be removed by the body’s macrophages.
Wrinkles may take up to 6 months to complete remodeling and remove damaged tissue.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
